Sermon Podcast – City Church Lagos

Sin Is Systemic

Sin corrupts the human heart, yes. But sin is also systemic. It corrupts institutions and cultures. It can be observed in oppressive structures like patriarchy. It can be so pervasive that we are oblivious to our participation. Or we can be aware and choose to deny, deflect or justify the abuse of power and privilege. It takes someone who is very privileged, very empathetic, and very powerful to save us.

Scripture References: Exodus 1:8-22

From Series: "The Anatomy of Sin "

Are you tired of constantly being defeated by sin? Are you surprised that it somehow always keeps getting victory over you? This is because we never fully understand sin and therefore underestimate it. Join us in this five-part sermon series as we consider the biblical description of sin and learn how to be victorious over it.
