By faith or by merit? The world, full of sin, rewards the meritorious. God, holy and flawless, justifies the ungodly. This is the free gift of faith: That God will cover the world’s sin so that we can approach him. This should not blow our minds but should cause us to live with inexplicable grace. The second sermon in our transition series shows us how.
